For more than 40 years, Atlanta has marketed itself as being on the forefront of social change to becoming the Deep South’s most modern global city. With 34% of the population, Blacks living in the city of Atlanta have heard their city called the Black Mecca, but what does that really mean? We will discuss this matter through a lens of social mobility.

Our collective impact strategy is to create a space called the Narrative Room, which invites changemakers to join a conversation and learn more about our community needs. The conversation is designed to help changemakers discover what social mobility actually looks like for the Black community in Atlanta.
